It’s not something you can see, just beneath the skin
Tensions starts to build, as your heavy heart starts to ache and bend
Waves governed by the moon, the water crashes down and thins
You are crumbling all at once, your mind jumps to absolutes and ends
I am not patience or a comfort to men, but for you
I will rise from the sea, and I will teach you how to begin
Lanky and long, but in my arms you are small
It’s not a fair fight, standing in between walls, destined to smother all life
Glowing like a lantern lit room, sweet grass and intoxicating fumes
China dolls we're never meant to fight wars
On the horizon, without you, meeting again always looms
It’s silence I can’t bear, I really don’t think I could want more
Your absence, a guard at the door
I am perpetually torn, sweet sufficiency
To be whole without having to break down the doors
I grasp you like a dagger, and in exchange you leave marks
On this chess board, each queen learned to bark
Through this galactic quest, I harbor you
I’d like to take you everywhere, if time was so kind
Rocks skid across the surace then sink
You and me, came from one thing
Split aparts, I am beginning to think
